Gas Mask Training

microfitness® incorporates gas mask training for fitness (similar to altitude training) into the program. Gas mask training helps condition the lungs by creating pulmonary resistance, your diaphragm is strengthened, surface area and elasticity in the alveoli is increased.

Gas mask training will help get your breathing under control and help with lung stamina, it can be used during running, cycling (stationary for beginners) and other workouts.

If you train with less oxygen you can eventually go on for longer! Gas mask training is great because it regulates how much air you can breath in, making it so that you breath less oxygen, in turn making the air thinner (due to the low oxygen intake it's similar to altitude training).

I fell asleep on 2 clients yesterday. and Thank god I don't shave my legs, the welts form those #@%* double unders are still sore. I think I might sneek around next week and cut all your skipping ropes in half. Have a great weekend :)

Warning

Executive Results does not recommend using gas masks for training without a health professional being present.

microfitness®

To meet current day demands, Executive Results has invented the revolutionary microfitness® program, a 10 to 20 minute (yes that's right! 10 to 20 minutes) workout providing the same results or better than a 60 minute workout.

The workouts have no rest periods, and you work till your maximum ability in one session, if your goal is increasing fitness you'll work beyond your maximum abilities, whatever your goal, a microfitness® program can be tailored to your needs. Call Anna now on 0417 093 806 to discuss your 10 to 20 minute workout once or twice a week, she can also explain to you why you will get results.

microfitness® will allow you to have a workout in your lunch break and still have ample time for a shower, lunch and a bit of relaxation. "microfitness® - 10 minute results"

Some will tell you that gas mask training for fitness is a gimmick, sure, it's cool to be running around with a gas mask and maybe even a bit weird. Some will say that you can achieve the same effects by breathing through a straw, well, to those I say "come and give it a go first"! A gas mask will truly require you to control your breathing, there is no cheating by breating through the nose, no cheating by opening the mouth. And a gas mask you can black out to achieve a claustrofobic effect.

The Benefits

Gas Mask Training mimicks the affect of High Altitude Training. When top athletes want to improve in their performance, they go to high altitude levels to train, and when they come back to sea level to race, they are performing much stronger, faster, and have more endurance due to the type of training they have been doing prior to the event.

With reduced oxygen consumption the human body changes in several ways. The production of red blood cells and new capillaries (small blood vessels) increase the transfer of oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. An important natural hormone involved in this process is EPO (erythropoietin).

Following are the changes that significantly boost Athletic Performance.

  • Increases in Lung capacity also results from GMT as your lungs have to work 10 times harder to get the oxygen in
  • Increases anaerobic Thresholds
  • Gas exchange becomes more efficient
  • Energy Production levels rise
  • Mental and Physical stamina increase
  • Mental Focus gets better

GMT is also fantastic for anyone suffering from asthma, as most asthmatics tend to over breathe, with the gas mask on they will learn to control their breathing, and some say it can even cure it if done on a regular basis.
